Marie-Laure developed her appreciation for sophisticated design while working in luxury hotels throughout Europe. After working in London, Monte Carlo, and Paris, she enrolled in Parsons School of Design in 1991. After receiving her interior design degree, she founded her firm ML Design in New York, and today runs her business in Charleston, South Carolina.
Having lived in Brazil, New York, and London, Marie-Laure takes an international approach to designing interior spaces. She has the ability to blend both modern and traditional elements to create unique and personal settings for her clients. Each project results in a sophisticated, comfortable and timeless atmosphere. Clients marvel at her ability to create a cohesive blend of fabrics, materials, and color palettes. Using her network of artisans, Marie-Laure is able to provide custom, one of a kind pieces which possess her European flair. Her attention to detail means that each commission is executed flawlessly.
ML Design has been commissioned by clients in New York City and Westchester County, Greenwich and New Canaan Connecticut, London, Paris, and Costa Rica. Since relocating her business to South Carolina in 2002, she now completes projects on Kiawah Island, Mount Pleasant, and downtown Charleston. Her firm specializes in residential design including new construction, renovations, and historic preservation.
